So on like, the 12th of June, my desktop computer's power supply died. I luckily got a new one, and although I'm quite newbish to setting up computers, I made sure to set the power supply up like the old one was set up. (And I know the basics I like to think) - everything seems to be working fine and dandy. My computer was shut off when the power supply died.
So just now I was gonna start a DVD using VLC like always. But VLC just gives me a message that it's crashed and then it shuts down. I had the 2.00 version (? i think) and I downloaded the newest one, thinking maybe it was just some bug and that it was outdated or someting.
I re installed VLC using the newest download on this website, but it still crashed. So i re-started my computer, same crashing experience. I googled a bit, and some mentioned deleting preferences, so I tried that, but it didn't work properly I guess, as it said it couldn't reach the FTP or something? :-S
I'm now sure what to think...is this somehow related to my computer's power supply issues? Seems strange that one piece of software should go haywire,...itunes, browsers etc work fine. And even so, the computer was completely shut off before it had "died". (The dvd works with PowerDVD and our PS3)
I'm using WIN Xp.
