No Audio [when recording WEBM]

Postby rgig » 23 Jun 2012 21:26

I am trying to record a Youtube video but I can't seam to get the audio to work. I have done a search but didn't see an answer or it went over my head.

I am running Vista Home... I have tried several different trial and error settings but none are working. I am sure I am overlooking an easy setting.

Thanks in advance...

Rick

There has got to be a simple answer to this... 22 views and no replies. I admit I am a novice, I did a search and I am sure something simple is missing.

Any help is appreciated!

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to MirrorCreator.com or to EmbedUpload.com, so it will upload the file for you to several other hosts, and then post the link to the file here.

Also uploaded to streams.videolan.org/upload although I didn't get a link to the resulting upload, just a close page msg.

I am not clear on what you are asking me. If it's the file that is used as input, then that is the file. I use open network stream, paste the link and press "play" button on the dialog. Once the video loads and is ready to play, I hit record.

I hope I am explaining myself correctly.

Once the video loads and is ready to play, I hit record.
And then you have troubles with the recorded file, so this is this recorded file that we want.

Unfortunately, it looks like it didn't come through. I can see the comments but not the AVI file itself, so please do it again.

I uploaded it to www.mirrorcreator.com under the same file name... let me know if that worked.

Erm, I need the URL that was given to you after the upload, as I can't guess it...

OK so the original video is using WEBM and VLC can't record it properly.
It seems to have been fixed in v2.1, let's hope it will be backported to v2.0.x, fingers crossed.
