Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 MCE

Postby Jose » 08 Jul 2005 09:32

Hi all,

Is there a solution around for
- VLC MediaPlayer 0.8.2 on Windows XP and
- the TVcard Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 MCE
regarding the no audio bug?

I looked all around for a solution, but the only thing I've found is the prove that I am not the only one with the sound problems of a TVcard from Hauppauge. I don't hear the audio even without streaming, i. e., it doesn't seem to be a specific streaming problem. I assume that the sound is not captured from the card at all. Probably a DirectShow problem with cards from Hauppauge?

Any solution is highly appreciated.

TIA,
José

I have the same problem. But there is a workaround.
You can record the channel of your choice to the harddisk and play the file in the vlc.
You can also play the liveTV.mpg in a loop, but unfortunately the vlc needs too much time to reload the file.

No Audio with WinTV 500 on Windows xp

Postby goelectric » 15 Dec 2005 10:30

Hi,

Anyone solved this yet?

I am also stuck with this problem with the WinTV PVR PCI card. VLC detects the card as a video source and the video works fine. But no audio.

I suspect that for some reason the card is not being given the right startup command from VLC as there is no sound output at alleven via Line out on the xp.

Lets hope someone comes to our help :)
