problem with the subs

I use vlc for all my movies awesome quality but suddenly my subs stopped working i dont know why i have encoded them to Greek windows 1253 until now it was perfect everything was fine but suddenly something happened and it just showing question marks in old movies when i use the subs they are working good but in new movies that i downloaded it is not working but when i open with bsplayer they work fine please what is the problem i love vlc i dont wanna use bs player i use bs player just to find the subs

Make sure you have selected the correct code page in the subtitles Preferences. Make also sure that you are using a font which can handle greek characters.
In all cases it's always better to use Unicode encoding than any dedicated code page for compatibility reasons.

i tried them all still they dont work but i dont understand before it was working normally in every subs suddenly i dont know what happened
