"dump raw input" does not work with youtube

I tried to save some youtube clips, but with no success.
vlc 2.0.1 on win7 home premium was able to play e.g. this video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcMRkyoH ... =g-all-xit
...but not to save it: I invoked the "convert/save" menu, inserted the URL, filled the "Destination file" line and, finally, checked the "Dump raw input" box. The result was a tiny 146 KB file and the warning messages listed bellow.

a bug - or do I miss something?

This is expected, since demuxdump is not done for playlists (this is a playlist).

ok, but what about this:

I don't think it is a playlist. however, "dump raw input" still doesn't work.
or a simpler question: how to apply "dump raw input" on the above video?

ok. obviously I miss something crucial. so again: HOW to apply "dump raw input" to download from youtube? a working example would be very helpfull.

So far, no simple solution.

If you need to capture network stream, then instead of Media → Convert/Save use Media → Open Network Stream and there a Stream option.
