The DE-evolution of VLC.. Transforms no longer work

Sad to see Video Transforms No Longer work

It used to be SO EASY to rotate a video 90 degrees and export it using VLC. Now it's so freaking complicated AND it doesn't work.

There are -----2---- places where you set this feature now (and it doesn't work when you try to save it).

The first place is after you open the video and go to Window > Video Filters > Transforms > Rotate 90 degrees. That works for WATCHING the video, but not saving.

To save it... who knows... it's so confusing now.

Once I've opened the video and got it playing in the correct orientation I want to save it. But I can't save it in the way that I watch it. It saves down in the old orientation and with no audio.

So I tried going to the Preferences to the second place where this option is set. Which is Preferences > Show All > Video > Transforms > Rotate 90 degrees. So now I have it set on the video that i'm watching and in the preferences. And I save it. And try to use the file Exporting Wizard and nothing works. I get the original video NOT rotated and with no audio.

VLC used to be an amazing tool. Is there a word to describe the DE-evolution of software? Because now it's so complicated (why on earth would you make this have to be set in two different places AND not work in either?)

I also tried to rotate 270 degrees in the preferences and saved it ... and again .. .of course that doesn't work either.

* sigh *

I need to find an older version of VLC that works. Can anyone recommend a download site where I can downgrade VLC to a version that supports video rotation?

It has never been possible to save video filters with the record button. This is not a regression in any way.

In fact, most file formats cannot "save" the transform/rotation parameters anyway, only MP4 can. So in the general case, that is impossible.

You obviously don't even know what you're talking about.
