New plugin

Postby matlit » 15 May 2012 14:29

Hello everyone!
I am new in VLC developing.
I would like to create a plugin: input = two video streams, output = one video side-by-side.

Could you give me some advices how can I deal with it?
What categories of modules should my module belong to?

I have read tutorials "How to write a module", "Core" and "VLC modules loading", but still developing my own module seems to be difficult.

Thanks for any help

Why not using the Mosaic module of VLC to do that?

I know that Mosaic can do that, but I would like to display my side-by-side video in main VLC window (the same interface, the same metod of controlling etc)
It is possible with Mosaic?
Second thing important for me is synchronization between two input streams. I mean the best way to display is take one frame from left side, one frame from right side and compose them to one "big" frame and display it in normal way in VLC.
