How To Launch VLC with Skin and Don't ReSize

Postby VoiceArtistUSA » 09 May 2012 06:08

The title much says it all...

How do I Launch VLC with a specific Skin and Don't ReSize...some videos are smaller, some larger. I just want to set the size and always open that size unless I stretch or go fullscreen.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to uncheck "resize interface to video size" in the first panel of the interface/preferences popup menu.

First, choose "Use native Style" to access this parameter, uncheck it and switch back to "Use custom skin". Actually, this is a bit unfriendly, because one may think that the parameter is only valid for native style, but it is also valid for custom skins.

Is there any way to uncheck by a batch file, after installing VLC 2.0.1.
Thanks in advance.

All config parameters can also be directly set up in the vlcrc file. The parameter for this ""resize interface to video size" is qt-video-autoresize. in the vlcrc file, just uncomment it and set it up to 0 as below :

# Resize interface to the native video size (Booléen)
qt-video-autoresize=0

The vlcrc file is found in the user directory which depends on OS (for instance, C:\Users\Erwan\AppData\Roaming\vlc\vlcrc on Win7 or ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc on Linux)

And of course, this can easily be scripted to automate an installation.
