VLC Issues Update And Version Request

Postby LANBoy » 04 May 2012 14:42

1) Firstly any ideas on when VLC will resolve the following issues: a) Not saving settings like having "sepia" mode and then when clicking next in the playlist it goes back to normal non-sepia. If i close vlc after making the Sepia setting and then play/add a folder to vlc the first one or two videos would be sepia but then goes back to normal. b) Also the latest version of VLC does not remember to stretch 4;3 videos to 16;9. Can someone comfort how im supposed to do this just in case i got it wrong. The other issue which has been around a long time is that play files randomly does not really play them randomly at all

2) Also while i wait can some one advise me on a previous version that does remember to stretch 4;3 videos AND remember as well as have the "sepia" options and remembers it when going to the next file after playing a folder?

Thanks

1. Did you set those via Tools -> Preferences?

There's a special way to make sure that VLC plays a file with the correct aspect-ratio. It's easy. If you're familiar with creating shortcut files on your system, just create a shortcut with the proper MRL path options for VLC, then append the "--aspect-ratio=16:9" option. Voila! The file will now automagically open with the proper AR whenever you click it. It seems kind of hard, but it is reliable.
If we can simulate real life so accurately, then isn't our reality maybe just one great big simulation as well?

Report a VLC2 bug. It really does not use the global (forced) aspect ratio (--aspect-ratio=16:9) with next playlist items. VLC1 O.K.
