If you play slower than 1.00x, does the noise also come? Does Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) complain something?

Does it help if you reset VLC settings by removing %appdata%\vlc folder?

I've also had this problem since v.2. Have tried all audio output modes and a clean installation with deleted settings. No joy.

I have the same problem for some time now.
Is there any one committed to this subject?

Since this is my first post yet, I feel obliged to say:
VLC is the greatest player out there, and I've tried my share.
Since this is the only real problem in my so far 8+ years, I can't really complain!!!
I just think, since VLC has been virtually perfect, why slander the perfect record over some audio problem?

Cheers, people!
Keep up the good work!
Niko from Germany
