Workaround: Black Screen / Slow speed on HD movies and 2.0.1

Postby Pum » 30 Apr 2012 20:33

I am experiencing problems with HD movies. The larger the image, the slower the movie plays.
1920x800 still works but it seems that some frames are missing (movements are not really smooth)
1920x1080 hangs immediately with a black screen. VLC won't even quit when clicking the "X"-Button. The window disappears, but the process still runs.

It works without problems when I change the output to OpenGL, though. (DirectX, Direct2D and Direct3D do NOT work.)

Some more information:
The file format doesn't seem to matter (tried VC1-WMV, AVC-MKV, AVC-M2TS)
I'm on Windows 7 64-Bit with an NVIDIA GT9600 and current drivers (296.10)
I didn't have this problem with VLC 1.x
