Problem uninstalling old version

Postby StekarVII » 23 Apr 2012 20:16

Hi, I'm using WindowsXP Profesional Version 2002 SP3. I had VLC version 1.1.11-win32 and asked to upgrade to 2.0.1. The installer detected the existing version, asked me to confirm to deinstall it but when it started the new installation it got stuck. I looked in my Program Files and tried to delete VLC folder but it could not be deleted. So I backed it up in my Temp and deleted manually all files I could delete and then tried again to install version 2.0.1. It did install and all works fine now. However, I seem to be stuck with the backed up VLC folder in my Temp. Files libvlc.dll, libvlccore.dll, vlc.exe, as well as all of the _.dll's in the plugins folder cannot be erased. Any idea how I can get rid of them? Thanks.

A ghost instance is still running in the background.
Restart your computer and try again.
