Vlc pitch problem with audiofile

Hi this is my first post on this forum.
Hope you all have a wondeful day/night.

I make music, and in one audiofile iam currently working with there is a pitch problems at ceartain
places in the song. It pitches down. like an lp player, when you thouches the record to alter the speed.

I have search your forum sites, and google this issue. but i cant seem to find anything that i understand.
I do not know about diffrents words or slang in this issues.

Vlc player: Latest, downloaded it today even though i think there has not been any update since i last downloade it



But the adiofile is a:
Bitspeed: 2116
Bit size: 24
Chanels: 2 (stero)
sound speed: 44kHz
soundformat: PCM

Sorry if i translated some names incorrectly.
I use propellerheads Reason 6 as my music software.
And this song has a Bpm at 90 in speed.
I have then exported it in a 24 bit.
I have never had this issue before. in my Vlc player.
Iam ofcourse talking out of experince with your latest Vlc player 2. 01
I use also M-audio Delta soundcard.
At sampel rate 22050 Hz
Asio/WDM buffer size 1024 samples

My computer is
Windows xp service pack 3
Amd Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 6000+
3,01 Ghz 3,00 Ram
It is a 32 bit windows system I have 4 ram, but it will only get up to 3 Ram in my xp


The reason iam very sure it is the Vlc player. Is that i have tested this spesefic adiofile
with my other media players. I have only two media players that can read that spesefic adiofile.
And that is Vlc and Quicktime. My quiktime player is old, but it didnt show any pitch problems.
Therefor it must be my Vlc player.
My Vlc player is set to default, or i did reset the it.
I hope i havent forgotten anything right now.

Anyway. i would realy appreciate if someone here could help me or hint at something in maybe a right direction
to resolve my issue. And i hope i have given enough information.
So please help?

Can you try the latest nightly build ? Where VLC 2.0.0 is in fact 2.0.2:

If it still doesn't help then you can also try to:

- Disable time stretching in the audio preferences
Menu Tools -> Preferences -> Audio

- Force the number of FFmpeg threads to 4 or 2 or even 1
Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Input/Codecs -> Video Codecs -> FFmpeg

- Use a faster resampler by setting the Sample Rate Converter type to Zero Holder Hold
Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Audio -> SRC Resampler


After the changes save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.
And please be kind enough to report us what worked and what had no effect for you.

Hi thank you for your advice.
But none of the above seem to make any diffrence.
And i have gone through every Reason file who is conected to this audiofile.
And they all have the same speed.
For some reason in some parts it also sounds like it pitch it higher, and in some part down pitch.
It is very strange.

I did also converted my audiofile to mp3. Then it was a little better. but i could easely hear the pitch changes.
And under the mediainformation what does "lost: 6" means? Because i have seen it up to around 11 that has been lost.

a little update. I did download the ffdshow codec pack for my WMP11 It worked then to play my spesefic audio file. And i didnt come across any diffrents in pitch problems. When i did install it, i did hook on every audio codecs. Because there is some that is not Turned on when instaling. I did do this three times to find the correct audio. The first time i did turn on all the stuff. But then i had click sound, the second didnt turn anthing extra on. then it didnt read at all. But third time lucky did only turn on all audio format. There can have been some subgenre i also turned on, but i cant remember it. But it didnt change anything with my Vlc player. Because i want it to work in Vlc player too. Because it is a alround very good media player.
