Playback Speed Display on VLC 2.0 Slider Bar

Hello, I've used VLC 1.1.7 for a while and have always adjusted the Speed Playback by using the SLIDE BAR in the bottom right corner, just next to the timestamp. I recently download 2.0 for another computer, and the slider bar is not there. I can control the speed through Playback>Faster/Slower, but this is taking extra clicks and steps. So my question is, how do I get the slidebar to appear on the bottom menu? I have tried just about every preference and customization I can find, but I know I am missing something. Thank you !

He means up in the toolbar, you first select VIEW. One of the options there is STATUS BAR. Once you click that STATUS BAR menu item, the bar appears on the bottom.

There's no "view" tab on Mac OSX. Which tab is it under on Macs?
