VLC recording TV no sound

Postby morice » 06 Apr 2012 00:35

Anyone can tell me how to get the sound when i record TV with VLC ? I use orange TV and all is ok but when i record something from one channel, i don't have the sound when i play the file. I think it changed since last update because it worked before...

Sorry i don't know what you talk about, as my english is bad and i don't know much about all this.
But i noticed that the sound works if i play the file with VLC but i have no sound with any other player (window player, media player etc).
I suppose that i need a codec ?
(sorry for bad english)

Thanks for your reply.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to MirrorCreator.com or to EmbedUpload.com, so it will upload the file for you to several other hosts, and then post the link to the file here.

This is an mpeg-audio (mp2 or mp3) so you should add codecs on other players.

I have the same problem using Youtube.

Example: the stream http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MHKJ9bBJDY&feature=fvst

This stream plays correct with VLC (Media -> Networkstream). Video and sound.

When I record this stream, no sound when I play the recorded file with VLC.
The Codec-information shows only a video-stream.

I use the latest VLC-version.

Thanks for reply.
