Postby Cosi » 25 Jul 2005 10:45

I have recently installed VLC on my MAC OS X Tiger and have attempted to play a DVD movie. Once DVD is in drive, and I press PLAY on VLC menu, the movie screen quickly flashes on my monitor, then disappears.. I am unable to view the DVD.. Can somebody please assist me.javascript:emoticon(':?')

Have you tried the "Open Disk" from the File menu? (applekey+D)

I have looked in to this problem we have, and as far as i can tell, the ONLY way to sort it is to have the drive changed..There is no other way round it..

Tried playing DVD, it said:
"vcd: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
vcd: failed to get the TOC
vcd: no movie tracks found
access_file: file /dev/rdisk2 is empty, aborting
cdda: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
cdda: failed to get the TOC
cdda: no audio tracks found
cddax: Disc seems not to be CD-DA. libcdio reports it is DVD-ROM

DVD won't play

I had exactly the same result as Guest:
vcd: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
vcd: failed to get the TOC
vcd: no movie tracks found
access_file: file /dev/rdisk2 is empty, aborting
cdda: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
cdda: failed to get the TOC
cdda: no audio tracks found
cddax: Disc seems not to be CD-DA. libcdio reports it is DVD+R
main: no suitable access module for `dvdnav:///dev/rdisk2'

However if I click on, or drop the VOB file into VLC, the movie plays. Any suggestions? Do you need more details?

Please search the forum for this term. This has been discussed over the last couple of months almost every one or two weeks. I'm a bit too lazy to repeat that once again.
