VLC 2 + utorrent's stream video = problem

I had an old version of vlc for windows, and utorrent. I've used to watch streaming video using utorrent's feature, and it works fine with old vlc. Then, for some reason, I decided to update vlc. Integrated updater say that version is last, but I knew it's not, so I've manually downloaded vlc 2.0.0 and installed it. After that, vlc becomes pretty weird when playing utorrent's streams: it doesn't start play instantly (like old version did), but waits until video will be downloaded like for 80% and only then start to play. All that time utorrent doesn't show progress, like video isn't requested by vlc at all. What's the problem?
I've tried to reset all preferences of vlc to default, but that doesn't help.

Are you using latest utorrent? It would be quite odd that they would use MKV muxer from year 2009

Yeah, it's last one, and everything worked perfectly until I've updated vlc

Matroska demuxer received many patches between 1.1.x -> 2.0.x, so issue is most likely there. But I would guess using newer mkvmerge in utorrent should make things better.

I have experienced the same problem and I also solved the problem by downloading VLC.

However, I didn't wait until the download had reached 80% completion, but I did try a couple of times using 2.0 and the problem was solved immediately after the downgrade.

Same issue here. If I am right, VLC is waiting for uTorrent to update it's component?
Why don't VLC's developers raise a proper thread in the uTorrent forum and paste the link here.

I work in IT and agree it is frustrating to deal with a problem with two different products breaking compatibility (and the resulting, other's at fault).
