Can't get the sound to work

Postby FelixT » 26 Jul 2005 22:59

Hi,

I am using the Firefox web browser. I recently installed an extension allowing me to launch the media player of my choice each time there is, for exemple, a video that needs to be played on a webpage. For instance, if I want to watch a Quicktime trailer on the Apple website. I chose VLC for all my media needs. But when I want to watch a movie that is on the website (like a trailer on Apple.com), VLC launches, I see the video but I can't hear any sound.

I can hear the sound when I play a video file that is on my computer though. Anybody could help me on this?

QT often uses the QDM2 codec. VLC windows by default does not support this codec. Search the forum for "QDM2 dll" to find a complete answer.

I forgot to mention that I am using Linux. Maybe that I created the topic in the wrong section, I am sorry for that. But still, I am not using VLC for Windows. :)
