Infinite loop on playlist

Postby qskdj » 05 Mar 2012 11:45

Hi this is my first bug report.

I use VLC 2.0.0 on windows but i think that this probleme concerns all versions of VLC.

I add a few file in list on VLC to play. Then i put the option loop, played my music files and stop listening.

I moved all files i was listenning in an other directory so that vlc is unable to get any file of the current play list.

Then i pressed the button play with the loop option still activated and vlc went in an infinite loop of error messages this file has not been found and i had to kill the VLC process to stop it.

That's not really a bug. VLC is doing what you told it to...

The obvious solution would be to stop the playlist whenever an error occurs. But that would probably cause even more frustrations...

The bug is that VLC should find that no files in the playlist are readable and stop trying to read them ater one or two loop And not need to kill the procesus to take the control of VLC

some of the playlist items may become readable after a while (especially network items).
