Blurry or scratchy play back

Hey,

I just downloaded VCL onto my computer. I've had it on my old laptop and PC and it played just fine, but for some reason when I play videos they are distorted on my current one. I don't know if I need to change a setting on VCL itself, or something on my computer. It plays, but looks scratchy and of poor quality, when I know the video itself isn't. Any ideas on how to fix this?

( I need VCL for dummies. orz )
