change playback speeds with smaller increments

Postby booga » 27 Feb 2012 12:53

Is it possible to tweak VLC so that the keyboard shortcuts for increasing or decreasing playback speeds (the plus and minus keys) change playback speeds in smaller increments? Currently, pressing the Plus key increases playback speed from 1.0X to 1.5X to 2.0X and on. But I wish I could have the plus key increase the speed in smaller increments: 1.0X, 1.1X, 1.2X, 1.3X. Is there a way to customize this?

I'm using VLC 1.1.9 (The Luggage) on Linux.

Use the small increase keys, that go by 0.05x steps.

I was looking online when I could have looked in the Preferences box within VLC. The answer is

]
for slight increase in speed and

[
for slightly slower playback.
