Zoom in fullscreen

Postby Dreamer » 24 Feb 2012 21:29

Currently it's impossible to zoom in fullscreen, could you add zoom as in MPC please? So that aspect radio will be preserved.

Something like "In/De-crease scale factor" which is working in window only.

Current "Zoom/un-zoom" only toggles quarter, half, original, double size and it's working in window only, not working in fullscreen.

The only workaround to zoom in fullscreen is "crop".

Thanks.

Use interactive zoom or o/alt+o

Thanks for the quick reply.

Could you be more specific? I couldn't find "Interactive zoom".

Regarding Alt+o - as I said, "Increase/Decrease scale factor" is working in window only. It doesn't work in fullscreen. So is it a bug then?

It does work if you press o once, Then use Alt+o and Shift+Alt+o to adjust the scaling.

Could you tell me which option is it exactly, I mean "o", I'm not sure if I have the original shortcut.

...But if it's "Toggle autoscalling", then it doesn't work in fullscreen though.

o is hotkey for "Toggle autoscalling". So then you go fullscreen, you press o once, and it should show video without scaling (==lots of black around it, if the video has lot smaller resolution than desktop). Then you use Alt+o and Shift+Alt+o to make the video bigger or smaller.

Thanks, so I tested it more and:

1. It does not work always, I don't know what is the problem, but yesterday I tried it (o, then alt+o) several times and today it worked in about 8 of 10 cases only. I am sure I pressed the correct keys.
2. When pressing "o", the video size is changed to original first, it's quite inconvenient.
3. When zooming in with "o", then Alt+O, the video is moving left, then top left - out of screen - a bug :?:

Thanks, but I'm looking for easy way to zoom, this is not easy.

What about problems reported in my last post, is it a bug?

This is the easiest way
1.tools > effects and filters > video effects > Geometry > check "Interactive Zoom" box > then open your video.

Stumbled upon this post in a Google search.

Although interactive zoom is a good way to enlarge the video if it's smaller, if the reason why it doesn't stretch to the edges while in fullscreen is that there are black bars, you can use the crop function, also under video effects - crop to cut some of the black space.

For example, I had a video with black bars at the top and bottom which caused it to not extend to the full width of the monitor when in fullscreen, so I just cropped them out until that wasn't an issue anymore.

Thanks for putting me on the right track.
