Crash when trying to hide all left column items

Postby kibmikey1 » 19 Feb 2012 18:39

Aside from my previous post, which apparently didn't sit well with Mr. Kempf, there is another issue (with the new, unnecessary non-closable interface, imagine that!) when I try to close all of the left column menus (Library, My Computer, Local Network and Internet, to be exact), it crashes. I have sent a crash report (like every good contributing end-user should) and just wanted to know, has anyone else run into this, or possibly know how to fix it?

Which version of VLC? Could you share the crash log?
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue. Just think what you would need if you were solving someone else's problem. Additional: Always looking for eager and capable MacOS X developers to join the VLC team - for more information see here.

Is a bugreport on this done?

I can confirm this crash, but I haven't come up with a way to reproduce it reliably. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm going to create an account later this day and look for bugs (or submit bug reports if applicable) for two or three sorts of crashes new to VLC 2.0, the omnipresent stuttering audio and the red stripes/discoloration issue discussed at viewtopic.php?f=12&t=98197.

Create a bug anyway. A Stacktrace would be nice.

As I mentioned, I have filed crash reports when this happened the first couple of times. Since it is happening every time I try to do this, I have gone ahead and filed a bug report. It is Ticket #6150. I attached the crash log of the most recent crash to it.
