VLC freezes when finishing big video files (playback)

VLC 2.0.0 has newer VOUT code, so it might work better.

I can also confirm that it is when using a secondary monitor (either highres computer monitor or even 480i TV output from my laptop) in full screen mode.

I can reproduce the problem on two machines (laptop and desktop).

Please let me know if you'd like some help testing newer versions. Until then, I'm going to back down to the older version that works (1.1.9).

FYI - 1.1.9 did it for me as well. Going to go back a few versions and re-test... It only happens when you let the video run to the end and then it's stuck. This happened on my Dell D610 laptop with either an external monitor @ 1024 X 768, VGA output, or TV monitor (480i, S-Video output). Hello there,

the 1.1.9 shows this behavior as well (freezing at the end of video if played full screen on external monitor), but not so often as 1.1.12.

I will try to download the latest version, to see if it works.

Maybe it happens only on Intel GMA chipsets under Windows XP??

I downloaded the latest GIT version (vlc-2.1.0-git-20120217-0011-win32), and it seems to work better on this situation (no freeze at the end).

I will test it on more videos, and I'll update this thread.
