Window resizing in VLC 2.0 (rc1)

Postby jr1421 » 14 Feb 2012 23:50

Has anyone noticed that in VLC 2.0 (release candidate 1) the app window no longer allows free mouse window resizing by holding down a modifier key (with an application like Zooom, MondoMouse, Flexiglass, etc.). I can still freely move the VLC app from anywhere within the window by holding down a modifier key, but resizing does not work, no matter which key I set as modifier. The only way I can resize the window in 2.0 is from the bottom right-corner resize arrow. I am also having issues with hotkeys set to resize the window (half size, double size, etc.); they only register occasionally.

I never had any issues with resizing in VLC 1.1.12 and below. I am loving version 2.0 but this is a major set back to me. Does anyone know if there is a setting or another way to change VLC's window management behavior in 2.0? Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

Try a later build than RC1

Thanks for the response Jean-Baptiste. Fortunately, the latest nightlies do have the resize functionality that it is in 1.1.12. Hopefully this will remain true when the official 2.0 app is released.

The missing bit is only the hotkeys then? or also the key modifier +click?

In the latest nightly, I can freely resize the window with my cursor when holding a key modifier - so it works perfectly as it does in 1.1.12. VLC's built-in hotkeys, however, are still spotty in the latest nightly. They seem to work properly on application launch, but after awhile, they trigger less and less often. I have noticed that if I manually resize the window, the hotkeys for sizing, like double size and regular size, will stop working properly - that is, sometimes the operation is triggered, and sometimes nothing happens.
