Crash 8.1, 8.2

Postby spike552 » 13 Jul 2005 20:12

My stuff crashes when ever I try to load VLC(no matter what file) got win 2000 and some people hae told me this isnt compitable with win2k.
heres the screen of death i get when i try to load it,

says STOP bunch of numbers
at the bottom says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I cant catch the numbers cause i only see the screen for a split second.
This was on 8.1, now 8.2 would just crash my system out of no where I uninstalled and it stopped, some help would be nice plz.

Ouch! That's a BSOD, blue screen of death. That's Windows crashing, probably not VLC fault. I would suspect a graphics driver problem or hardware problem.

Right click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> uncheck automatically reboot. That will give you time to read the BSOD message.

VLC runs smoothly (except for one pesky DVD decoding quirk) on my dual Athlon Win2k SP3 system with GeForce 6800 and two 1600x1200 displays.
