File assoc in VLC

Postby rarkenin » 10 Jan 2012 19:42

Found out why VLC crashes on file assoc:
In XP 64, it tries to access HKCU\classes\wow6432node, when it should access classes directly. Bug with WoW compatibility layer. Should be fixed.

If you mean the file association dialog in Preferences..., it is broken.

Yeah, the registry key issue is causing that problem, maybe some workaround for the registry key issue is a good idea?

It would need complete overhaul.
