More than 1 vlc player?

Postby tzatta » 08 Jan 2012 22:19

Hi everyone

I want to open more than 1 VLC player at the same time. I have looked on the internet for a solution. I have gone to tools/preferences/interface settings. I have unchecked 'allow only one instance'.

But when I click on another video, the first video is closed down and the second video begins in its place.

I have the latest version 1.1.11

Any help would be most welcome.

This is strange, to my knowledge the newest version of vlc player lets you open two videos at the same time without making changes to any of the settings. Have you tried opening two vlc media players and then going file - open file on each one?
hope this helps

Hi jonnyway
Thanks for the reply. I opened 2 players and I can now see 2 videos.
I mistakenly thought that by clicking on 2 videos that they would open automatically in 2 separate vlc players. This isn't the case.
When clicking on video 1, vlc opens and plays, but when clicking on video 2 it overrides the first video in the same player.
The solution is as you say, open 2 separate players.

Thanks a bunch for the suggestion.....problem sorted!!
