mms - wmv streaming videos

I've been having an issue with VLC on the following website:

it seems that after copying the link and trying to open it with VLC 'Open Network' an error keeps happening, not sure what it is, I used a PC and I was able to play it with the windows media player, see the error below:

not sure what the issue is, I'd really appreciate if you guys could help me with this, do I need an older codec? or something?

thanks for the advise, but you could be more specific? - I'm trying to bring this to the city council so they could provide access to 'mac' computers, but I need to prove that there is not way on a mac os to play this type of videos.

The server (208.71.205.11) refuses VLC's connections, which is why it can't play the stream. So, it probably refuses VLC's identifier (which can be used to differentiate VLC from WMP, etc.)..

I had this problem and all was replace mms:// with rtsp:// and it worked fine.

I am however having other issues, but that's for another post

Thank you kindly for your reply, I tried the above but now, VLC gets stuck on the loading bar, not sure if its working or not, after hitting play also happens the same.
