I turned off video overlay for it to only show a black screen with no video.try disabling "video overlay" in the preferences window to see if it helps (but it shouldn't behave that way anyways ...)
Latest WHQL? You have 77.72 This driver is VERY buggy with more overlay bugs. Its works ONLY with Battelfield2 fine. Only NVidia latest drivers meant not "all right".I am getting a magenta tint on all videos now. Like the green channel is gone or slightly less there.
I'm using a GeForce 6600 GT 128mb with the latest drivers
No, because 0.8.2 works for at least 433,407 people (only on OSX. there are at least 1,350,528 windows users as well) and only the few who tried APE have problems with it.Wouldn't it be sensible to remove 0.82 from download on the OSX version and leave 0.81 until this is sorted?
Additionally, 0.8.1 features much more serious bugs than 0.8.2.
Note that you can still download 0.8.1, if you wish to.
I've contacted Frederic, and he will look into the portaudio-module as soon he has time for it ...VLC has a serious deficiency in developers. We develop what we need and want personally a lot of the time. However VLC has gotten so large that this isn't a proper development cycle anymore. Still without the development team of programs like MPlayer, we just can't do that much.exactly!Imho its time to extensive bugseek. And for the first bugfix-only-release. Without new features.
Still the introduction of our trac system: http://trac.videolan.org
has made quite a difference already in a few weeks. hopefully the proces will improve over time. The fact remains however that without a developer that cares about certain modules because they are HIS, (like the portaudio module), their stability will just be very flacky.
deintralacing errors on MPEG4 is a known bug/issue with 0.8.2. We are trying to fix itFirst time using this program 0.8.2...
If I try to deinterlace any DivX or XviD files the program crashes...nasty red error message. Only works on mpeg files. I don't know if deinterlace is an mpeg only thing, but I thought I should share this anyway.
And! It would be nice for the subtitles to automatically be loaded if they are in the same directory. A few users mentioned this.
Do DivX6 files work with VLC? Just asking, I have no clue if changes must be made.
