streaming TV to a EEE PAD Transformer ?

Postby aygun » 31 Oct 2011 15:03

Hello everyone!
I'm a new owner of an Asus EeePad transformer 101 .
My question is if anybody managed to stream live TV station with VLC over wi-fi in local LAN?
The signal is analog cable TV over an WinFast DTV Dongle H.
On streaming tasks Vlc uses the GPU or only the CPU ?

I say this because the sistem I wil use to stream over network does not have 3d accelerated video board . In fact is an Megabook from msi with lcd broken an 3D core of the video board with problems. Without accelerated driver it works fine . The processor is an AMD turion 64 x2 TL-52 1,6 ghz with 1GB of ram and 120GB Hard Drive.

So , can someone give me a little help regarding this problem ?

Streaming itself can't use GPU operations. You can use GPU decoding in VLC, but it isn't required thing (so CPU only decoding works just fine).

If you would use VLC 1.2.0, you could use HTTP Live Streaming. (Android 3.x should support it out of box)

WebM streaming should also work
