About preview

Postby thegoodvlc » 27 Oct 2011 00:25

Hi Folks, I´ve been using VLC for around 8 years. In the first 5 ou 6 years , when I was using VLC to preview videos currently being download in Emule Plus , I could see several parts of the video, like the first 2 min, then from the 15th min up to the 17th , then from 32th min up to the 33th and so forth, up to reach the 2 or 3 final min. I´ve been keeping VLC update. In the last 2 or 3 years it happened that it´s not more possible to preview the several little parts between the beginning and end of the video. VLC can preview only the first 2 or 3 min in the video´s beginning and then , only the last 2 or 3 min in the end of the video. I tried to reinstall it several times, check it all the configurations out, and so tried to put back the older versions, but never more VlC was able to preview lots of parts throughout the video. Could someone tell me what I must to do in order to have that fine preview feature working throughout the videos ?
thanks in advance
Alex Ettinger

That depends on the file format. There cannot be a generic solution to this problem.

Yes, I understand. But I´m considering this problem only for .avi files which are around 75% that I use. What could I do to preview the .avi files?
regards
