I have to read a file with windows vlc on an sftp/scp linux server (100mbps network).
I got no success yet. Is it even possible?

AFAIK not with VLC directly. If you mount the location with additional tools, VLC should be able to read them.

Thank you for the answer. Are you sure there's no implementation of the SCP/SFTP protocol in vlc?

There is, but IIRC it doesn't work with Windows because of some issues.
