7.1 sound possible?

7.1 sound possible?

Hi i have a file with 7.1 sound. My soundcard support 7.1 and i have a 7.1 surround audio setting. but when i play the file with vlc , i can only see 5.1 sound
How can i get this to work?

What VLC version and what audio output? are you sure the input stream has 7.1 ?

i use version 1.11.1
ans audio output is on default.
do i need to change some settings to get 7.1?

Default does not tell me what your system uses...
VLC does not support 7.1 through ALSA or OSS yet. It should work with PulseAudio though. I have not checked other operating systems.

i am new to this. sorry but i don't understand what you are saying.
i work with windows 7. is that what you mean?
how can i use this pulse audio?
