Audio distortions when playing a DVD

Postby AD235 » 22 Oct 2011 08:37

The sound will pop or crackle every few seconds or it will skip entirely. It happens with every DVD I play, but it has no problem with videos that are saved to my computer.
I have VLC version 1.1.11 and I'm running Windows XP SP 3.

What happens if you play the same DVD disk on another computer?
What happens if you play a DVD on your computer using any other player? (e.g. Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, ...)

When I started the dvd by opening the movie initialization file directly, it reduced how often it happened but it still happened.
