Buttons no longer clickable on 1.1.11.

Postby AtomicShroom » 12 Oct 2011 03:27

Today out of nowhere, buttons are no longer working in VLC 1.1.11. I'm on Windows 7.

I can sometimes click on them, but most of the time play/stop/pause/etc. are not working. When I click on the progress bar, it starts the video all over. I can't scroll it.

I've searched and seen that this seems to happen alot to people with Wacom Tablets/mouse... But the thing is that I don't have a Wacom! In fact nothing has changed at all in my hardware configuration and I have no clue what I could have installed/changed that caused this to start happening overnight!

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling/clearing preferences and nothing did the trick.

Help? Let me know if you need any more info, I'll be glad to provide.

You reseted VLC settings by removing %appdata%\vlc folder?

Hi!

I've enjoyed using VLC for a long time, through Windows XP and Vista.
Unfortunately I'm also suffering from this unclickable interface problem on a new machine running Win 7 64.
Also no Wacom tablet, very new Windows 7 SP1 install. Mouse driver is default HID-compliant mouse.
I've tried VLC versions 0.9.9, 1.0.5, 1.1.0 and 1.1.11. None of these work on this new machine but have worked without glitches on my other computers with older OS's.
When trying to reinstall I deleted a c:\Users\myname\Appdata\Roaming\vlc folder. Are there other remnants of uninstall?

The problem remains. I've seached and found no solution and it's worrying because it seem to be old and known and apparentely not solved.
Please help. VLC is useless this way.

Thanks in advance

I'm running the same version of VLC and encountering the same problem, the buttons seem to be click-able whilst using my laptop's touch-pad but not with my Wacom Bamboo Mouse. I'm also running Windows 7 if that's any assistance.

I'm having the same issue as the OP

Has there been an official fix for this or does someone know how to fix this issue?

Multiposting won't help.
