Dark shadow in corner on fullscreen

This happened some time ago but after long time of searching I hope to now get the solution. Whenever I go to fullscreen on my second monitor there is a dark/shadow in the corner. The shadow takes up the bottom left corner of screen. It is not completely black but it is like a darker part to the screen. The movie just plays right thru it like nothing is there. Please help.

Could it be another window positioned right at the border between first and second screen? Maybe even the VLC window itself if it's size is set small enough.
Most windows in Mac OS X cast a shadow in dark gray.

Does this only happen in VLC? If you take a screen shot is this visible in the resulting image? What type of screen do you have?

Thanks for the replies. I don't think it is another window. It seems like it is the small window from VLC when I switch to full screen. It is a like a shadow window that VLC leaves behind when going to full screen. This only happens with VLC. I am now having to watch movies with Quicktime again. The shadow is visible when I take a screenshot, but I am not sure how to add the screenshot to this post. I have two screens and it does it with both screens, iMac 21" on 10.6.8 and a Samsung LCD 52".
Please help me start using VLC again.

I upgraded to OsX Lion and now the problem is gone. I did not change anything just did upgrade. ??? Wierd but it worked.

This means the issue was in the drivers...
