MozillaPlugin:"rtp-client-port" has been ignored for securit

Postby mp3butcher » 25 Sep 2011 00:26

Error in mozilla vlc plugin.

Code: Select all

unsafe option "rtp-client-port" has been ignored for security reasons
When playing rtsp stream
is there a way to know which port will be used as default rtp-client-port in order to redirect port over a router via Upnp
or is my webcode good for the trash:( ?
Thank by advance

No and rtp-client-port does not do that anyway.

I know rtsp/rtp doesnt include upnp ...
However How can you do rtsp streaming over the net as it need the client port to be open on your router?
My assumption was to use a static client port, previously opened on the router, but the mozilla plugin reject this parameter for security reason
(unsafe option "rtp-client-port" has been ignored for security reasons)
So How can I proceed?:/

This cannot work. The client port could be used by another process. You have to use a dynamic port and punch a hole manually. VLC does not support this currently.

But that's hardly an issue, since you cannot rely on UPnP. It's often disabled by default or not available at all.
