VLC as a drive storing .ts

Postby marcin888 » 23 Aug 2011 03:07

Hi,

I have external dvb-t tuner (chipset MSD7828) with recording capabilities.
It look similiar to this one:

Recording may be done to external USB device in example: pendrive/hdd.
Tuner _cant_ be used as a usual usb stick tuner. USB socket is used only to store ts files.
But i wonder if its possible to set VLC pretending a USB drive and grab ts frames, which tuner is trying to store on the usb device?
The clue is to "cheat" tuner that it's sending data to USB drive and then capture this data/ts/frames by VLC.

How do You think - is it possible?

Regards!
M.

How would anyone here know? It depends on what the device can do.

I assume that device is not "editable" part. Normally device is just streaming ts frames into external drive.
Anyway i think it's not possible due to USB spec (host/device) used at a computer side.
USB at any end should be compatible with "on the go" spec, but it's not and i think it's not possible to change it even from a low level software.
