Files not downloading all files in VLC format.

Postby The Mop » 19 Aug 2011 02:22

I have just downloaded the new version of the VLC player and it is not automatically downloading all files in VLC format as it was previously. Instead, it is downloading some files as AVIs or Windows Media Format. When I click to open these files, they open (not always successfully) in Windows Media Player. I then have to open VLC player and do a search to play them in VLC player which is a pain. What do I have to do to have them automatically downloaded in VLC format so I only have to click on the VLC icon to play the file in VLC player??

This depends if you enabled file associations in the installer...

Thanks for the reply. How do I do that. I never had to do this on downloading previous versions.

Uninstalled it and downloaded VLC again making sure that all the boxes were ticked. Still having the same problem. Any ideas?
