DVBLast on ubuntu

Postby joolzg » 18 Aug 2011 14:14

I have a funny old problem with DVBLast, had this since the first time i installed it.

I have a server which has runsv on and controls the stopping and starting of dvblast to stream channels only my network, this all works really well but sometimes when runsv restarts a stream dvblast does not lock the channel i want, i have put a '-O 10000' in the command line so dvblast will quit after 10 seconds of no lock, and in this case runsv will restart dvblast within 3 seconds.

But 99 times out of 100 if i run the exact same command from the commandline 'sudo dvblast -f xx -s xx -c xx.conf' , i get a lock, 99% of the time 1st time.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this happens, or a fix, as sometimes it takes 5 minutes for the runsv dvblast to get a lock.

Hmm, are you sure your DVB device driver is working correctly? Some of the Linux DVB drivers are riddled with race conditions.

Yep works fine well as long as it gets lock.

The problem is not that it does not work, works really well and stable, until i have to reset the machine, then it can take 10 minutes to start streaming.

Now if i run dvblast from the command line, it works 99/100 times.
