AC3/DTS Volume

Postby noobtoob » 06 Aug 2011 15:52

AC3/DTS are way too quiet.
I've been testing some other players with AC3/DTS boost, but in other respects they just don't compare to the amazing VLC.
What can I do to fix this?

Are you sure you have right speaker setup selected from Audio menu?

Other option related to this is A/52 dynamic range compression that can be found from Preferences (Input/Codecs -> Audio codecs -> A52 or DCA).

Too bad it's in Bug Paradize.

Not going to be fixed because it is not considered a problem to have to max the volume on the the speakers, the windows volume, and VLC volume THEN move closer to the speakers to hear anything.

How can VLC do so much but overlook something common on video players today?

I'll continue my search for the best video player, seems it is not here.
