Display .srt automatically w/out opening videos separately?

I am using a PC, and VLC media player 1.0.1 Goldeneye.

I know that if a subtitle file (in this case, .srt) has the same name as a video file (.avi), then it automatically displays those subtitles when I play the video. My problem comes when there are several video files that make up a single movie, each with its own subtitle file.

Specifically, I have the movie "Kill Bill, Vol. I" split into four .avi files (titled pt.1, pt.2, etc), each with its own correspondingly-named .srt file. These are all located in one main folder, titled "Kill Bill". To play the movie, I right-click that folder & select "Play with VLC media player". Opening the movie this way makes sure that it plays through the four video files seamlessly. BUT, for some reason, opening the movie this way also means the subtitles do not automatically display. If I want the subtitles to display, I do one of the following:

1. After starting the movie via the main "Kill Bill" folder, at the beginning of each file playing, pause the movie to manually tell VLC to open the specific subtitle file that goes with the current video file (right-click > Video > Subtitles Track > open file, etc).
OR
2. Instead of opening the main "Kill Bill" folder, double-click the "pt.1" video file directly, then, when it finishes playing, double-click the "pt.2" file directly, etc.

Both of these options will display the subtitles, but make movie-watching annoying, having to pause at awkward moments several times before the movie is over.

SO, is there some way to get VLC to recognize the subtitle files automatically without having to open the video files separately?

Use VLC 1.1.11 and rename your subtitles files to the same name of the video files...

Hm, just updating to 1.1.11 did it! Didn't realize the fix would be that easy. Should've been updating for some time I guess... THANK YOU!
