vlc and windows media player

I have installed vlc on freebsd. And I want to give people the ability to listen my stream using windows media player . How?

I have seen them... but I don't understand. Can you give me an example how to start vlc for streaming video from the directory for a example /staff/video for windows media player.
And I am using command line in freebsd.
