vlc player keeps crashing

whenever i try to play this stream
mms://i2catvserver.i2cat.net/tvc_inter

i am on vlc player 0.8.6d on windows xp at office
I am able to play the same stream in media player mplayer and real player but not vlc player

the funny thing its working on my vlc player at home but the OS is vista
I was able to play it till recently on my office computer also
dont know what went wrong any ideas

i dont get any error messages
as soon as it opens it just becomes unresponsive which leads me to having to kill it using task monitor

No, that would probably help you. Try to do that (you can do it from start menu).

i must have done that a million times
now i am 0.8.6e it doesnt crash but gives me this message all the time

main error: no suitable access module for `mms://i2catvserver.i2cat.net/TVC_inter'

Yep, seems that stream you gave doesn't work with VLC.

it used to work just fine earlier
it broke recently
in 0.8.6d onwards i think




just will have to record the stream differently using some other player like mplayer i guess till it is fixed

edit : do i need to file a bug report somewhere or is it out of scope of vlc

doh sh*t u know what happens? i try to get on, and its says it has encountered a problem. when i reset preferences, i get about a billion messsages, but not all at once (it literally takes 5 mintutes to close em' all down) i notice that it can't install a few files then it randomly opens command prompt an that says it has encountered a problem.

Hi all !

Since the subject didn't change, I'll use the same thread.

My VLC keeps crashing
It has been doing so for the last couple of days. I'm runing a fresh new version but no chance, it keeps crashing.
Either with MP3 or AVI or DIVX files, nothing seams to do it ?

Pls help ... I'm about to re-install WMP which is more stable :s

Well ... looks like I've been to prompt to judge ... actualy ALL my mediaplayers are crashing !!
