dispalying frames

i want to find the place in vlc where in a normal playback (displaying to the screen, and not some stream_out) a decision is made whether to play a frame, delay its playing or drop it because its too old according to its i_pts
can somebody refer me to the relevant file in the tree? is it in \src\video_output? or in
