how to remove forced subtitles

Postby mildaz » 11 Jun 2011 01:02

I have a french movie with forced subtitles. When I try to watch it with english subtitles they overlap with the forced one. Is there anyway I can disable the forced sub and just enable the sub I want?

From what you describe it seems that the subtitles are embedded / inserted into the video so you can't remove them, you need to reencode without subtitles from the original source.

Hi mildaz,
You could also try this workaround : add a black background to your english subtitles, they should hide most of the french burned-in subtitles, as shown in the 2 following pics
Good luck :D
