Wizard to Command Line for Webcam Streaming over HTTP

Postby samo9789 » 10 Jun 2011 14:04

Hi,

I have been experimenting with VLC in order to stream a Webcam feed online (over HTTP).
I've done all my tests using the graphical interface (Stream Wizard) and would not like to switch to using the command line to automate the process...

I've read the manual on how to stream using the command line but the only information I can't find is regarding the declaration of the source.... ddshow:// seems to be what I need but how to specify the camera source ?

To answer my problem, I was hoping to find within a VLC a console or debug output which would simply debug/trace the command line generating by my actions on the interface... Is there such a thing ?
The Stream wizard only displays the --sout= content but not the full command line I would need to reproduce my action without the interface.

Thanks in advance for your answers
