VLC 1.1.9 breaks Bitgravity stream

Postby pcguy » 13 Apr 2011 16:40

Just upgraded from 1.1.8 to 1.1.9 in Win7 X64 and vlc no longer will play bitgravity video streams. Player opens up the playlist window with the stream list but does nothing.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" http://bglive-a.bitgravity.com/twit/live/low

Is the shortcut I have been using without any problems until 1.1.9

It seems that link doesn't give anything, downloading just hangs.

Same problem here. Upgraded to 1.1.9 and Leo Laporte's Bitgravity streams no longer work. It seems to just buffer forever. If I click the stop button howerver, I get the following error.
No suitable decoder module. VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
Also, it would be nice if VLC let us copy these error messages to the clipboard... :(

Right its a live video stream. Same problem existed in an earlier version of VLC which was eventually fixed.

Continues in 1.1.10. Bitgravity must be ultra-obscure.

Resiler
Thanks for the heads up. Saves me from installing 1.1.10

Install 1.1.10 and take libavcodec_plugin.dll of 1.1.8

Nice find, considering how many plugins there are. I'll just maintain a backup of the 1.1.8 DLL in case this continues to be a problem in the future.

That one works too. Is it a test version?

Yes. This is a 1.1.10 and a small fix in it.

Previous message deleted

EDIT: Strike that. I didn't delete pref and cache when installing .10. Using 1.1.10 with the libavcodec_plugin.dll from above gets TWiT working again. Thanks so much!
