how to make a relay

Postby Koala » 12 Jun 2005 23:32

Hi,

can you recommend me solution of this situation? I have a machine with analog TV camera. This machine is in local network on the not good wireless line:

machine1+TV camera ....... wifi............ machine2->internet-> clients

Machine1 is server - vlc or vls?
Which stream is the best for poor line - raw, mpeg4...?
Can I have vlc on the machine2 with input from vlc/vls from machine1?
Can I have several streams with various bitrate, such 16k, 56k, 225k? Is it possible make it with duplicate option?

Thanks

VLC should be the better choice.

Raw? No way! Mpeg4 is fine.
Can I have vlc on the machine2 with input from vlc/vls from machine1?
Yes, you can. You just need to know the exact definition/address of the source-stream.
Can I have several streams with various bitrate, such 16k, 56k, 225k? Is it possible make it with duplicate option?
It might be too cpu-intensive. I've not tried it yet.

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
